I cannot put into mortal words how fucking badly I want that swedish goat to burn. We live in a modern surveillance hellscape and not only is big brother watching you but he’s monitoring your purchase habits so he can sell you a smart refrigerator that will spy on you for the cia. the full weight of modern technology can be rallied to protect that straw monument to human hubris and I want us to burn it anyway. I want the might of modern society to crumple in the face of a drunk swede with a zippo lighter. we can do it just take my hand
they concluded that the rats were having fun partially bc the rats voluntarily initiated games, hopped around joyfully and teased researchers by pretending to come close and then skittering away. rats are Very Good
These scientists are getting grant money to play games with rats all day and that is just, living the dream.
Hell yeah the US just gave like 8 billion dollars in funding to intercity passenger rail. Including some HIGH SPEED RAIL?!?!?!??
can’t overstate how massive this is, i used to work in rail and US trains were so pitifully underfunded that my employer wouldn’t even bid on those projects because it wasn’t worth the time. This is actually putting us on the level of other countries that invest in transportation as a public service??? And 8 billion? Like this could actually really make some massive change.
If I were more poetic I might have something to say about cars not being able to touch each other without damage, and how the mark of collision is considered a shameful blemish and yet depending on how impactful, some are never able to be removed entirely. But luckily I’m not that deranged!!!
